How "Ex d" and "Ex e" Protect You
Explosion protection works two ways. SJFB fixtures combine both — a flameproof enclosure that contains any internal ignition, and increased-safety construction that stops sparks and hot surfaces from occurring at all.
A robust thickened die-cast aluminum enclosure withstands an internal explosion and stops the flame from propagating outward. Threaded and plane flameproof joints cool any escaping gas below the ignition temperature of the surrounding atmosphere.
Additional measures — larger creepage distances, secure terminals, and controlled temperature — prevent arcs, sparks, and excessive surface heat from ever occurring. Applied to wiring chambers and terminals so ignition sources never arise.
Rated for Zone 1 & Zone 2
Hazardous areas are graded by how often an explosive gas atmosphere is present. SJFB fixtures, certified under GB 3836 (technically equivalent to IEC 60079), are rated for Zone 1 and Zone 2.

Fixtures combine threaded flameproof joints and plane flameproof surfaces to contain an internal ignition and prevent it from propagating to the surrounding explosive atmosphere — the core of Ex d (flameproof) protection.
Thickened Die-Cast Aluminum Enclosure
High-purity, thickened die-cast aluminum housing provides the mechanical strength required of a flameproof enclosure while conducting heat away quickly to keep surface temperature within the rated temperature class.

What does "explosion-proof" mean for an LED light fixture?
An explosion-proof (Ex) light fixture is engineered so that it cannot ignite a surrounding flammable gas, vapor, or dust atmosphere. This is achieved mainly through two protection concepts: flameproof "Ex d", where a robust enclosure contains any internal ignition and cools the escaping gases below ignition temperature, and increased safety "Ex e", which prevents arcs, sparks, and excessive temperatures from occurring in the first place. What is the difference between Ex d and Ex e protection?

Which gas groups and zones are the SJFB fixtures suitable for?

They are rated for Zone 1 (where an explosive atmosphere is likely during normal operation) and Zone 2 (where it is unlikely and short-lived if it occurs). Temperature classification reaches up to T5–T6, meaning a maximum surface temperature as low as 85°C. What is the difference between GB 3836 and IEC 60079?
IEC 60079 is the international standard series for electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres. GB 3836 is the Chinese national adoption of that series, and the two are technically harmonized — the protection types (flameproof "d", increased safety "e"), gas groups (IIA/IIB/IIC), temperature classes (T1–T6), and zone definitions are aligned. SJFB fixtures are certified under GB 3836; we state IEC 60079 only as a technical-equivalence reference, not as a separate certification.

Yes. SJFB enclosures use thickened die-cast aluminum with surface treatments such as electrostatic or polyester powder coating, and exposed fasteners in 304 stainless steel, for strong corrosion resistance. Fixtures are rated IP65 against dust and water jets and operate from -20°C to 45°C as standard.
