Lighting Built for Flammable Atmospheres
Offshore decks, refinery pipe racks, tank farms and loading gantries mix explosive gas, salt air, vibration and round-the-clock duty. Our GB 3836-certified SJFB explosion-proof range and IP66 industrial fixtures are engineered to light these zones safely — and keep lighting them for years.
Where a Spark Cannot Be an Option
In oil & gas facilities, areas around wellheads, vents, pumps and loading points can hold flammable gas or vapour. These are classified into hazardous zones — Zone 0, 1 and 2 — by how often an explosive atmosphere is present. A luminaire in these areas has to contain any internal spark or hot surface so it can never ignite the atmosphere around it. That is what an explosion-proof (Ex) fixture does, and why ordinary "industrial" lighting cannot go there.
How our Ex fixtures contain a spark →Explosive atmosphere present continuously — instruments only, not general lighting.
Explosive atmosphere likely in normal operation — Ex d / Ex de flameproof fixtures.
Explosive atmosphere unlikely, and brief if it occurs — Ex or rated industrial fixtures.
A Fixture for Every Part of the Site
From the wellhead to the walkway, each area carries its own zone classification and demands. Here is what we typically specify where.
Offshore Platform Decks
Salt-laden air, constant vibration and gas around wellheads and risers attack ordinary fixtures.
Explosion-Proof Lights →Refinery Pipe Racks & Units
Dense piping throws deep shadows; vapour-release points classify whole units as hazardous.
Explosion-Proof Lights →LNG & Loading Gantries
Tanker loading and cryogenic spill risk demand certified, fully sealed luminaires.
Explosion-Proof Lights →Tank Farms & Bund Areas
Wide perimeters and floating-roof tanks need long-throw flood coverage at grade.
LED Flood Lights →Pump & Compressor Stations
Vibration and routine washdown call for sealed, corrosion-resistant fixtures.
LED Tri-Proof Lights →Walkways, Stairs & Control Rooms
Continuous, low-glare linear light that survives washdown and damp.
LED Tri-Proof Lights →From Brief to Buildable Lighting
Representative oil & gas scenarios — the challenge on site, the approach we take, and the fixtures behind it.
Offshore Platform Deck
A platform deck packs Zone 1 wellhead areas, relentless salt spray and 24/7 vibration into a small footprint. Standard fixtures corrode, loosen and fail — and any failure offshore is expensive to reach.
Specify SJFB Ex d floodlights and bulkheads in marine-grade alloy, laid out from a DIALux model for even deck lux and controlled glare on walkways and stairs.
Refinery Pipe Rack & Process Unit
Dense piping casts deep shadows across operator routes, while vapour-release points classify large parts of the unit as Zone 1 or 2.
Run flameproof linear and bay luminaires along racks and at grade, sealed to IP66 against washdown and weather, with optics chosen to wash light into the shadows between pipes.
Tank Farm & Loading Terminal
Bunded tank perimeters and floating-roof tanks need wide, even coverage, while loading gantries sit in a hazardous zone of their own.
Combine high-power floodlights on perimeter masts for area coverage with explosion-proof fixtures at the loading gantries — one supplier, one photometric model, one set of documents.
More Than a Box of Fixtures
A hazardous-area project needs certified hardware, a verified design, and the paperwork to clear it through site and customs. We supply all three.
Certified Explosion-Proof Luminaires
The SJFB Ex d / Ex de range is type-tested to GB/T 3836 for IIC gas groups and Zone 1 & 2 — flood, linear, bay and bulkhead bodies in one certified family.

IES / LDT files and a DIALux study verify lux level, uniformity and glare across decks, racks and roadways before a single fixture ships.
Corrosion & Salt Protection
Marine-grade aluminum, stainless fixings and IP66 sealing — built and salt-spray tested for offshore platforms and coastal terminals.
Project Logistics & Documentation
FOB / CIF / DDP supply with GB 3836 certificates, type-test reports and customs paperwork — sized for EPC and turnaround schedules.

Tested for the Environment It Lights
Hazardous-area fixtures only earn their place by surviving the conditions they are sold for. SJFB explosion-proof bodies are type-tested to GB/T 3836, and our industrial fixtures are salt-spray and IP-tested in-house before they ship — so the rating on the label matches the life on the platform.

Oil & Gas Lighting — Answered
Are your explosion-proof lights certified for oil & gas hazardous areas?
Yes. Our SJFB series is independently type-tested and certified to the Chinese national standard GB/T 3836-2021 (certificate ZJEx25.1185), covering Ex d / Ex de protection for IIC gas groups in Zone 1 and Zone 2. GB 3836 shares its construction and marking concepts with the international IEC 60079 series. We supply the certificate and type-test report with every project — see our Certifications page for the full documentation.
Which fixtures go in which zone of an oil & gas site?
Zone 1 and Zone 2 process areas — decks, pipe racks, pump stations and loading gantries — take SJFB explosion-proof Ex d / Ex de luminaires. Wide Zone 2 perimeters such as tank farms are usually lit by high-power floodlights on masts. Non-classified walkways, stairs and control rooms use IP66 tri-proof linear fixtures. We confirm the right product against your area classification drawing.
How do you protect lighting against salt, corrosion and vibration offshore?
Offshore and coastal fixtures use marine-grade aluminum housings, stainless-steel fixings and IP66 sealing, and are salt-spray tested before shipment. Explosion-proof bodies are engineered to stay sealed and flameproof under continuous vibration. Tell us whether the site is offshore, coastal or inland and we match the material and coating accordingly.
Can you provide a lighting design for our facility?
Yes. Share your layout, mounting heights and target lux levels and our engineers return a DIALux study with IES / LDT photometric files, verifying uniformity and glare for decks, racks, roadways and perimeters. This lets your team confirm the design against project specifications before placing an order.
Do you ship to oil & gas markets in the Middle East and Latin America?
Yes. We ship project-direct to the Middle East, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa, with FOB Shanghai, CIF-to-port or DDP delivery and full customs documentation including GB 3836 certificates and test reports. Minimum order quantities apply for custom builds.
